What really does this mean with respect to making career decisions?

In simple terms, consider the following questions:

1. How well am I thriving where I am? Am I well primed for progression in this environment in terms of my past and current performance, relationships, and positioning amongst peers?

2. Is this the right time for this move or change, or will maintaining the status quo a while longer be beneficial for my knowledge growth, professional profile health, and network strength?

3. If I make this switch, how will 5, 10 years in my next career reality compare with another 5, 10 years of my current reality?

4. Is this next reality future focused in terms of the new realities of the new normal of work?

5. What is fueling this decision? What is motivating the change and in what order of priority? Is developmental growth at the crux of this motivation?

6. Where is this decision in God’s plan and assignment for my life? Have I sought God’s guidance in prayer and through the scriptures?

7. Have I considered all ramifications adequately and objectively? When I look back in another 5, 10 years, will I truly be able to say that given every information and resource at my disposal and having adequately answered the above questions, I took the best decision possible?

While it might not be possible to predict the future, you should aim to be able to look back on your career in the future and confidently say: NO REGRETS.

Are you at a decision point in your career, or do you plan one for this year? Take some time to answer the above 7 questions and evaluate where you stand.

Your answers should provide the starting point for some critical actions you should take in the interim.

Have an IMPACT full week!
