In the weeks leading to the end of 2021, I have had quite a number of ideas but for many of these ideas, somehow, I found reasons why they wouldn’t be appropriate; I didn’t have the personality type, it doesn’t look or sound good enough, someone else was already doing it, I already lost the premium chance to start in 2021, blah blah blah.

Yesterday, while preparing a meal and thinking aloud, I was considering an article and I kept rejecting every idea. Then it hit me: It doesn’t have to be perfect!

It’s hard to recount the number of beautiful ideas that I have lost in the past because I felt something just didn’t click. Thinking about some ideas that I have gone ahead with despite some self doubts, I can say this: you mustn’t have the perfect setting to go for what you want.

Have you finalised your 2022 plans or at least started? Are you discouraged by your past failures or by other people’s successes? Do you feel like the playing field is already saturated? Do you feel ill-equipped or unprepared?

Whatever thoughts you are having for 2022; big dreams, aspirations, don’t sleep on it. At the least, create a dump of the ideas and fine tune them as you gain more clarity. Make the calls. Look for your old notes. Review your past 2 to 3 year goals and see what is outstanding till date. Start from there. What held you from accomplishing them? Are they still relevant? What should change? What should be included?

The picture you see was a selfie taken in the rest room of a hotel. There were some things I didn’t like about the picture but I decided to share on my status anyway. The comments were surprisingly amazing! Somehow, no one noticed or dwelled on the imperfections that I had seen or thought I saw. Now it’s one of my favourites (you might not agree though😀) but hey, what if I didn’t post it?

In the fews days to the end of 2021, take a moment to review the past year and begin to plan ahead (if you are yet to do so). Your plans might not look perfect now but will make sense when you connect the dots backwards much later.

Remember: It doesn’t have be perfect. It is progress over perfection.

This post isn’t perfect but I’m sharing nonetheless😎

Have a beautiful 2022!
